You should always insist on reviewing a copy of a diamond’s certificate, before making your purchase.

Diamond certification is a document of proof that the gem has been subject to a professional and unbiased examination. Created by a team of gemologists that measures and evaluates the diamond, the certificate officially records the diamond’s various characteristics, including dimensions, symmetry, polish, clarity, and color. Cut grades might also be included for round diamonds.
