Rather than costing twice as much as a 1-carat diamond, a 2-carat diamond tends to cost about three-times as much.

You should also understand that a 2-carat diamond may not look twice as large as a 1-carat diamond when mounted. The chart below is a rough guide to illustrate the point. The Right Diamond Size

Your budget is the first and most obvious dictator as to the size of diamond you buy. But there are other factors worth considering. • Lastly, how big is her finger? The smaller the finger, the larger the diamond will appear. A 1-carat diamond will look much smaller on a large finger, than it will on a smaller finger.
